Job Overview
Solutions Contracting LLC is seeking an experienced HVAC Service Technician to join our growing team. This role focuses on diagnosing, servicing, maintaining, and repairing commercial and light industrial HVAC and refrigeration systems. The ideal candidate is dependable, technically strong, and capable of working independently while maintaining high standards of quality and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair HVAC and refrigeration systems
- Perform preventive maintenance (PM) services and system inspections
- Service RTUs, split systems, exhaust systems, make-up air units, and refrigeration equipment
- Identify mechanical, electrical, and control-related issues
- Accurately document service work, findings, and recommendations
- Communicate clearly with office staff and clients regarding system status and repairs
- Maintain compliance with safety standards and company procedures
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of hands-on HVAC service experience
- Strong troubleshooting skills in mechanical and electrical systems
- Experience with commercial HVAC and refrigeration equipment
- EPA Certification (Universal preferred)
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Ability to work independently and manage service calls efficiently
Preferred Qualifications
- Extensive experience servicing commercial HVAC systems, including RTUs, split systems, exhaust fans, and make-up air units
- Hands-on experience with RTU replacements, change-outs, and major component repairs (compressors, heat exchangers, motors, controls)
- Strong understanding of airflow, gas heating, heat pump, and economizer systems
- Experience performing and documenting preventive maintenance (PM) programs and HVAC system inspections
- Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and sequence of operations
- Familiarity with refrigeration systems (walk-ins, reach-ins) is a plus, but not required
- Professional, clear customer communication skills with the ability to explain system conditions and recommendations

This role focuses on diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining refrigeration systems, with an emphasis on reliability, food safety, and minimizing downtime. The ideal candidate is self-sufficient, detail-oriented, and experienced in field service work.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair commercial refrigeration systems
- Service walk-in coolers/freezers, reach-ins, prep tables, and ice machines
- Perform preventive maintenance (PM) and equipment inspections
- Identify mechanical, electrical, and control system issues
- Replace compressors, motors, controls, valves, and related components
- Accurately document service work, findings, and recommendations
- Communicate clearly with office staff and customers regarding system conditions and repairs
- Maintain compliance with safety standards, EPA regulations, and company procedures
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of commercial refrigeration service experience
- Strong troubleshooting skills in electrical, mechanical, and refrigeration systems
- Experience with medium- and low-temperature systems
- EPA Certification (Universal required)
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record

Preferred Qualifications

- Strong understanding of refrigeration cycles, superheat/subcooling, defrost strategies, and temperature control systems
- Experience working with medium- and low-temperature refrigeration systems
- Ability to read and interpret refrigeration wiring diagrams, schematics, and control sequences
- Experience performing and documenting preventive maintenance (PM) programs and refrigeration equipment inspections
- Familiarity with HVAC systems is a plus but not required
- Professional, clear customer communication skills, especially in food-service or mission-critical environments
